About Us

Introduction
It was proposed and agreed at the inaugural meeting assembled by Peter Bradwick in February 2006 that ‘Crow Valley Woodturners’ be adopted as the name of the club. The name comes from the translation from the Welsh name ‘Cwmbran’ where the club is based  “Valley of the Crow”. It was also proposed and agreed that the club would be affiliated to the AWGB (Association of Woodturners of Great Britain).

Membership
The initial membership was eighteen and has grown over the years to about a total of sixty members that include people from the locality and from the surrounding areas including beginners, improvers and experienced wood turners, as well as some woodturning tutors and professionals.
We are always looking to promote woodturning and welcome people to come along to our club and try their hand at woodturning under supervision. This is free, for a couple of weeks, just to see if they like it.
